WWI Victory Medal named to: K.24112 H. G. YOUNG. STO. 1. R. N.
Stanley George Young was born in Botley, Hampshire and joined the RN in 1915. During WWI he served aboard HMS Canada and saw action at the Battle of Jutland. He remained in the RN after the war, serving on various ships and establishments. In 1930 he was awarded the Royal Navy Long Service and Good Conduct Medal. He was shore pensioned in 1937 but appears to have continued to serve during WWII. In 1941 he was serving aboard the battleship HMS Queen Elizabeth. He was released from service in 1945.
