Thomas O'Grady proceeded to France on September 9, 1914 and was part of the small garrsison at Antwerp that eventually surrendered to the Germans in October, 1914. He spent the remainder of the war in POW camps in Germany. A rare medal to one of the British defenders during the 1914 Siege of Antwerp.
