Thomas Collie was born in Aberdeen, Scotland. He was a member of the 102nd Rocky Mountain Rangers when he joined the 48th Battalion CEF in April, 1915. He was transferred to the 123rd Pioneer Battalion, Royal Grenadiers and served with them until 1918 when he was invalided to Canada and discharged as medically unfit.
