WWI Victory Medal named to: 2142323 L. CPL. E. S. RICHARDS. 2-C.M.R.
Edward Steven Richards, MM was born in Elmwood, Illinois, USA and had previous service in the United States Marine Corps. He joined the 30th British Columbia Reinforcements Draft of the CEF in January, 1917. Transferred to the 2nd CMR in England, he proceeded to France and served until the end of the war with the battalion. He was awarded the Military Medal for bravery (3rd Canadian Division Order 11 September 1918 / LG 11 January 1919) and was also wounded (SW arm and buttocks) 26 August 1918.
