Albert Caron was born in Grande Riviere, Gaspe, Quebec and living there when he joined the 189th Battalion CEF in April, 1916. In England he was first transferred to the 69th Battalion and the proceeded to France working in an entrenching battalion initially, then to the 22nd Battalion. He was twice wounded whilst serving with the 22nd, first in August, 1917 and again in August, 1918. Caron was discharged at Quebec in December, 1918.
