Robert Bernard Jennings was born in Paris, Ontario. He was living in Toronto, a member of the Queen's Own Rifles and working as a railroad construction engineer when he joined the 256th Overseas Railway Construction Battalion CEF in January, 1917. He served overseas in the 10th Battalion Candian Railway Troops.
