Edward Arthur Fulton was born in Parrsboro, Nova Scotia. He was a member of the Canadian Militia and had served in the Cadets in Aldershot, NS when he joined the 193rd Battalion (Nova Scotia Highlanders) in April, 1916. In England he was transfered to the 185th Battalion and advanced to Acting Sergeant, but reverted to the ranks at his own request in order to proceed to France with the 25th Battalion. He served at the front with the 25th from 1 March 1918 until it was discovered that he was a minor, born in 1899. Fulton was returned to the UK and posted to the Young Soldiers Battalion in September, 1918 where he spent the remainder of the war. He was discharged in Halifax, NS in December, 1918.
