Arthur Stanley Graves was born in Summerside, Prince Edward Island, and living in Berlin, New Hampshire, USA when he joined the CEF (1st Depot Battalion, 2nd Central Ontario Regiment) in February, 1918. He served on the Western Front with the 3rd Battalion, Canadian Machine Gun Corps.
