A scarce original circa "Old Contemptibles Association" bronzed lapel badge, the reverse of the button fitting impressed: 'Reg. No 726347' and the reverse of the badge officially numbered "1714 D". Height measures approx. 23mm. Excellent condition.
The Old Contemptibles Association was founded by Capt JP Danny of the Royal Artillery on June 25th 1925. All members were known as 'chums' and were the survivors of the First British Expeditionary Force of August-November 1914.
