799309 Private Adam Matthews was born in Toronto in 1892. He had some previous service with the 9th Mississauga Horse when he joined the 134th Battalion (48th Highlanders) in January 1916. Transferred to the 15th Battalion, he was killed in action on August 9th, 1918. He is buried in Hillside Cemetery, Somme, France.
