British War Medal, Victory Medal named to: 2.LIEUT. R. LIGHTBOURN
Robert Lightbourn was born in Bermuda in 1894. He was a Rhodes Scholar for Bermuda in 1915 and attended Oxford University. Whist in England he joined the Gloucestershire Regiment (8th Battalion) and was killed in action on 26 July, 1917. He is buried in La Laiterie Military Cemetery, Belgium. A rare set of medals to one of few Bermudans killed during the First World War.
