Watson Hartford Boyd was born in Aurora, Ontario. He was living in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan and employed as a druggist, when he joined the CEF in August, 1915 (10th Field Ambulance). He was at one time Chief of Police in Brandon, Manitoba. He served in France and Flanders with the 10th Field Ambulance until he was invalided to Canada as medically unfit.
