Norman Joseph Church was born in Bracon Ash, Norfolk, England. He was living in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan when he joined the 210th (Frontiersmen) Battalion there in April, 1916. Transferred to the 1st Canadian Mounted Rifles, he served with the battalion on the Western Front from June 1917 until he was killed in action on 26 August, 1918.
