Joseph Martin was born in Liverpool. He had been serving in the 48th Highlanders (Canadian Militia) when he joined the 92nd Battalion CEF in September 1915. He served in France with the 15th Battalion and was killed in action 23 September 1917. He is buried in Aix-Noulette Communal Cemetery Extension, France.
