Kate Kennedy Cattanagh was born in Hampstead, England in 1881. Her family moved to Edinburgh, Scotland and she was living there when she volunteered with the YMCA, and was awarded the BWM for her service during the First World War. Her father, Doctor James Wilson Cattanach was a Colonel in the Royal Army Medical Corps. Kate Cattanagh died in Edinburgh in 1964.
