WWI British War Medal named to: 2. LIEUT. V. L. CHILD. RAF.
Victor Llewellyn Child was born in Palmerston, Ontario and joined the Royal Flying Corps in 1917 undergoing pilot training in Canada before proceeding to the UK. He was seriously injured in an aeroplane accident in England in August, 1918 while flying with 28(T) Squadron, RAF. Due to his injuries, he did not see service outside the UK during the war. Prior to joining the RAF, Child worked for the P. W. Ellis firm, famous for it's WWI badges. After his service, Child became a noted artist. A full biography can be found on Wikipedia:
