WWI British War Medal named to: PLY.4204 PTE. A. J. BISHOP. R.M.L.I.
Albert John Bishop was from Halberton, Tiverton, Devon. He joined the Royal Marines in 1907 and served in various ships and establishments until the outbreak of the First World War. Most of his time during WWI was spent aboard HMS Sappho and HMS Orion. He served in the RMLI until being discharged in 1933 at which point he enlisted in Royal Military Police. He was discharged from the RMP in 1945.
