WWI British War Medal named to: LIEUT. G. R. NELSON.
Gordon Rishton Nelson was born in Vancouver, British Columbia. He joined the 196th Battalion (Western Universities) as a private in May, 1916. He joined the Yukon Motor Machine Gun Battery at the front in May, 1917. He was transferred to the 2nd CMMG in 1918 and promoted Sergeant. Nelson was commissioned toward the end of the war and discharged in 1919.
