WWI British War Medal named to: CAPT. J. A. A. WATTERS.
Joseph Arthur Avila Watters was born in Portneuf, Quebec. A practicing physician and surgeon, and member of the Canadian Militia (CAMC), and with previous service with the 9th Regiment Royal Rifles of Quebec, he joined the CEF in January, 1917. He served in England as medical officer to the 11th Reserve Battalion and at Shorncliffe Military Hospital until he was discharged as medically unfit (some records indicate "resigned")
