WWI British War Medal named to: LIEUT. W. M. LACEY

Walter Maurice Lacey was born in Marion, Indiana and lived in Cheyenne, Wyoming. A physician and surgeon, he gradated from Harvard Medical School in 1912. He was a volunteer in the Harvard Medical Unit and granted honourary officer rank in the Royal Army Medical Corps. He served overseas with the unit. He had additional service in the American Army during WWI. His BWM represents his sole (British) medal entitlement. A very scarce medal to an American Volunteer, attached to the RAMC in the famed Harvard Medical Unit.
