Earl Reid was born in Birds Town, Illinois, USA and living in Winnipeg, Manitoba when he joined the 44th Battalion CEF in December, 1914. He was transferred to the 43rd Battalion and proceeded with them to France in April, 1916. He was killed in action on September 21st, 1916 and is commemorated on the Vimy Memorial.
