British War Medal, Victory Medal named to: Sagh. V. Dept. E.A.
WWI medals awarded to the Egyptian Army are typically not named with the recipient's individual details - only rank and unit, which can make attribution difficult. However, in this case there is only one individual on the medal rolls who matches the rank of Sagh (officer rank approximately equal to senior Captain or Major) within the Veterinary Department of the Egyptian Army. El Sagh Effendi Izzat Suleiman served with the Veterinary Department and was Mentioned in Despatches whilst an el Yuzbashi (Captain):
