John Henry Green was born in Hitchin, Hertfordshire. He was serving in the 3rd (Prince of Wales's) Dragoon Guards when he was killed in action during the First Battle of Ypres on November 5th, 1914. He is commemorated on the Menin Gate Memorial. A British War Medal to a relative, likely a brother (Horace James Green - Hertfordshire Regiment - KIA 1916) is also listed on our website.
