WWI 1914-15 Trio to Canadian Engineers - Collie

1914-15 Star, British War Medal, Victory Medal named to: 42 SPR. J. COLLIE. CAN: ENG. (C.E. on BWM/VM)

James Collie was born in Aberdeen Scotland and working as an iron moulder when he joined the 4th Field Company, Royal Canadian Engineers in Ottawa in November, 1914. He had previous service in the Canadian Militia, serving in the 1st Field Company of the Canadian Engineers. He arrived in France with he 4th Field Company (later 4th Battalion) and served with that unit until the end of the war. Sold with a Royal Life Saving Society dated 1909 and named to him.
