1914-15 Star (CAPT. H. W. WOOKER. CAN: A.M.C.), Victory Medal (MAJOR H. W. WOOKEY)
Harold William Wookey was born in Jamaica, British West Indies. A graduate of the University of Toronto Medical School, he was practicing medicine in Toronto when he joined the Canadian Army Medical Corps in April, 1915. He served in No.4 Canadian General Hospital in Salonica and in the UK. After the war he became a surgeon of some note, pioneering a throat operation that became known as the "Wookey Procedure". Worthy of significant additional research.
