WWI 1914-15 Star named to: 79334 PTE. G. I. KIRWAN. 31-CAN. INF.

George Isadore Kirwan was born in Dublin, Ireland. He had previous service in the 13th Field Battery, Winnipeg (Canadian Militia) when he joined the 31st Battalion CEF in Claresholm, Alberta in November, 1914. Kirwan was "blown up and buried" on 6 April, 1916 whilst serving with the 31st Battalion. He later served at Canadian GHQ and with the 58th Broad Gauge Railway Operating Company.
