Harry Meech was born in London England. He had previously served in the London Rifle Brigade and the 1st City of London Imperial Yeomanry. He joined the 18th Battalion CEF at London, Ontario in February, 1915 and served overseas both in that battalion and the Canadian Ordnance Corps.
