Ezekiel "Zeke" Harris was born 19 August, 1853 at Niagara on the Lake, Ontario. He lived in Campbellford and saw service on the St. Lawrence, near Cornwall, during the Fenian Raids of 1866. At the time, he was a 13 year old Bugler in the Campbellford Infantry Company (24 medals to unit). Harris moved to Picton, Ontario circa 1870 and served as a Bandsman with the 16th Prince Edward Battalion - antecedent of the Hastings and Prince Edward Regiment - receiving the CAFLSM in May 1902. For many years he was the Bandmaster of the Picton Citizen's Band. Harris died 12 December, 1922 and is buried in Glenwood Cemetery in Picton.
