The NATO Medal for Former Yugoslavia was awarded for service in the Former Yugoslavia, Albania, the Former Republic of Macedonia, and the Adriatic Sea between July 1, 1992, and December 31, 2002, requiring 30 days of service in the theatre or 90 days in an adjacent area in support of NATO operations. This medal was replaced by the Non-Article 5 NATO Medal for Operations in the Balkans on January 1, 2003.
