Born in Toronto, Frederick Clifford Bell joined the 4th Overseas University Coy (Toronto) in September 1916. Served in various battalions and units in England before being transferred to the CFA and serving with the 2nd Brigade Artillery from April 1917. Awarded MM per London Gazette 30573 – 13 March 1918. for the Battle of Passchendaele. His excellent citation for the MM can be viewed in the attached photo.
