Defence Medal, CVSM+Clasp, 1939-45 War Medal, QE2 RCAF Long Service and Good Conduct Medal (9933 FS P. F. MURRAY)
Paul Francis Murray was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba and joined the Royal Canadian Air Force (Permanent Force) in June, 1938. He served mainly as an armourer. During the war he served within Canada and the UK with 400 and 407 Squadrons. He remained in the RCAF after the war in various technical positions. From his file, it appears that he was being considered for promotion to Warrant Officer when he died suddenly, of natural causes. He received his RCAF LSGC medal in 1956, shortly before his death. His WWII service medals are swing mounted, as worn while the LSGC is on it's single mount, as presented. Sold with rank insignia, his cap badge and a hard copy of his service record. A very scarce QE2 RCAF LSGC group.
