Canadian - WWI - CEF Photo - 13th Battalion (Royal Highlanders of Canada / Black Watch) - Slater

A post-WWI period photograph of 24989 Sergeant Andrew Slater in his CEF uniform. He was born in Glasgow, Scotland and had served in the 5th Regiment - Royal Highlanders of Canada (Canadian Militia) for 6 months before joining the 13th Battalion, CEF in September 1914. He served with the battalion until being invalided to England in May 1917 and was ultimately discharged in 1918. The reverse of the photo has the ink inscription "Sincerely & Fraternally Yours - Andrew Slater, March 1928".
