1914-15 Star (50169 GNR. C. FINCH. R. F. A), British War Medal, Victory Medal (50169 CPL. O. J. FINCH R. A.), Defence Medal, 1939-45 War Medal, Royal Air Force Long Service and Good Conduct Medal (148145 F/SGT. O. FINCH. R.A.F.)
Oswald Finch began his military service in the Royal Field Artillery joining the Mesopotamian Expeditionary Force. He was wounded, suffering a bullet wound to the knee. He subsequently transferred to the Royal Flying Corps and served with the RFC until the end of the war. He remained in service between the wars, earning the LSGC sometime around 1935-36. Note that the 1914-15 Star is named as C. vs O Finch, a typographical error. A scarce, early RAF long service group.
