Archibald Reginald Miles was born in Croydon, Surrey in 1887. He disembarked in France with the Royal Engineers 16 August 1914. Entitled to and issued clasp for 1914 Star. Onlne records indicate he had Typhoid Fever whilst serving with the 10/Mal Co. in September 1918. The London Gazette indicates he was employed as a ‘skilled workman’ by the Post Office in 1913 (LG 3 Jan 1913). WWII service was likely in the Home Guard meriting his award of the Defence Medal. He passed away in Colchester, Essex in 1976.
