South Africa Medal 1834-53 named to: W. Elliott. 27th Regt.
William Elliott was born near Belturbet, County Cavan, Ireland. He attested to the 27th (Inniskilling) Regiment in 1831. He served a total of 21 years before being discharged as medically unfit. He spent over 10 years in the Cape of Good Hope and another year in New South Wales. In addition to his South Africa Medal, he was additionally awarded the Long Service and Good Conduct Medal upon discharge.
