Fred Prince was from Leeds and served with the Yorkshire Regiment in South Africa earning his QSA with 4 clasps. He saw further service during the First World War with the 2nd Battalion Yorkshire Regiment - and was Mentioned in Despatches (London Gazette 15-6-16). He was killed in action on the Western Front 13 August 1916 and is buried in Gorre British and Indian Cemetery, France. He was further awarded a 1914 Star, British War Medal and Victory Medal for his WWI service.
