Indian Mutiny Medal 1857-59 named to: 1107 Barnard, Mulligan. H. Ms 27th Regt.
Bartholomew Mulligan was born in Drumgoon, near Cootehill, Cavan, Ireland. He joined the 27th (Inniskilling) Regiment in 1838 and served over 20 years with the colours. Nearly 9 of those years were spent in the Cape of Good Hope, and another nearly 3 in India. He was awarded the Long Service and Good Conduct Medal with gratuity as well as his Mutiny Medal.
