Burk's Boer War Service is confirmed in the rolls which indicate he served with H Section Pom-Poms, Royal Horse Artillery. He joined the Metropolitan Police in March, 1897 and retired in 1922, serving with X Division throughout his career. Medals have been court mounted for display.
