He joined the battalion at Halifax, NS in November 1915. He proceeded to France with the battalion in March 1917. Pratt suffered his first wound (shrapnel wound to his left arm) on 9 or 11 April 1917, during the Battle of Vimy Ridge (sources differ). He was invalided to convalesce but returned to the 85th in June 1918. He was wounded a second time on 29 September 1918 during the Battle of Cambrai. His service file confirms his entitlement to wear 2 wound stripes.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eTunic is missing shoulder buttons and two pocket buttons.
